Carton detection analysis

Many cartons are now required to be tested. In the previous chapter, Haida introduced the detection methods for cosmetics, packaging, and other items. Today, Haida has analyzed the detection methods of home appliances.

Home appliance companies require pretreatment of the carton prior to testing to allow test samples to be processed at 23oC and 50% rh . Until the moisture content of the test sample reaches the range of 6% to 10% , each test is started. If you do not meet the moisture content requirements, continue processing until the moisture content is met.

Water content

Selecting one carton samples, measuring points from four different parts, for arithmetically averaged accurate to 1%.

Weigh about 50g samples from different parts of each sample box, tear into small pieces and place them in a weighing box of known quality, and dry them in a 100 °C to 105 °C oven to constant weight (the difference between the two weighings is not greater than 0.1% of the original sample weight ) . Each weighing should be accurate to 0.001g . The moisture content is calculated as follows:

Corrugated carton diameter measurement

The corrugated cardboard box is opened and molded. After closing the flap and the lower flap, lean against the gauge and press the upper plate (10kg) on the flap. Measure the length, width and height of the steel plate ruler with a scale of 1mm and the reading is accurate to 1mm .

Corrugated box diameter measurement

Open the upper swing cover, press the pressure plate on the lower swing cover inside the box, and place a steel ruler upright on the box. Rolling cover folding

Examine the remaining 6 cartons except the moisture content sample. Open the molding and fold the flap 90 ° inward. With this as a starting point, fold 270 degrees outward, so that it is opened and closed once. Fold back and forth 3 times. Test 5 carton samples. Check for cracks in the inner and outer layers and record the crack length. Accurate to 1mm .

Corrugated box thickness measurement

According to GB/T 6547-1998 . Select 3 carton samples. Take a piece of 250mm × 250mm piece in the printed and non-printed parts of each carton. Each piece is more than 50mm away from the edge. Measure 4 points at random. Accurate reading to 0.01mm . The arithmetic average is the measurement result and is rounded to 0.01mm .

The minimum distance between the edge of the sample and the edge of the circular disc is not less than 50 mm . During the measurement, the active plane is pressed onto the sample at a speed of 2.5 mm/min ± 0.5 mm/min , and the test piece and thickness shall be ensured. The measurement plane is parallel. Read immediately when the indication is stable, and do not press the hand on the instrument or the test strip.

Breaking strength

According to GB/T 6545-1998 . Twenty specimens were cut from three cartons. The specimen size was 150mm × 150mm . No watermark, crease or obvious damage was allowed. The samples were equally divided and measured on the front and back sides of the film. The specimen is clamped between the two specimen grip rings and the measuring device is started. The pressure is gradually increased at a rate of 170 ml/min ± 15 ml/min . When the specimen is blasted, the numerical value indicated on the pressure gauge is read to the accuracy of 1 kPa. . During the test, when there is a significant slip of the sample, the data should be discarded and the sample be reworked. Calculate the arithmetic mean of all measured values ​​to the nearest 1 kPa .
Side pressure strength

According to GB/T 6546-1998 . Twenty specimens were cut from three cartons. The specimen size was 25mm × 100mm , and the corrugation direction was a short edge. Ten specimens were cut out. The specimens had no watermarks, creases or obvious damage. The cuts must be smooth and straight. And perpendicular to the edge of the cardboard surface. The sample is placed in the middle of the lower platen so that the short side of the sample is perpendicular to the two plates. The guide block is used to support the sample so that the end face is perpendicular to the two platens, parallel to each other, and perpendicular to the surface of the corrugated cardboard. Start the pressure tester and move the platen at 12.5mm/min ± 2.5mm/min . Apply pressure until the sample is crushed. Record the maximum pressure that the specimen can withstand, accurate to 1N .

The edge pressure strength is obtained by the following formula and expressed as N/m :

Pierce strength

According to GB/T 2679.7-1981 . Eight specimens were cut on three cartons on average. The specimen size was 175mm × 175mm . No watermarks, creases or obvious damage were allowed. Of all the samples, half were faced with pyramids and the other half with pyramids. In each sample, half of the sample was longitudinally parallel to the swing direction of the pendulum, and the other half of the sample was transverse. Calculate the arithmetic mean of all measurements to the nearest 0.1J .

Empty box compression

The remaining 3 cartons were subjected to an empty tank compression test. Sealed with sealing tape, using a vertical and horizontal seal three. Sealed carton samples were placed between the upper and lower platens of the pressure tester. After the pressure tester was started, the upper platen was lowered and a pre-pressure of 220 N was applied to the carton sample. The test was started at a speed of 10 mm/min ± 3 mm/min until the sample was crushed. Record the maximum pressure value, accurate to 100N
